Amazing Towers in KL

If you’re staying at Cormar Suites (10 Jalan Perak), three of Malaysia’s most striking skyscrapers are close by. Here’s what you need to know about KL Tower, the Petronas Twin Towers and Merdeka 118, Malaysia’s newest and tallest building.

KL Tower

KL Tower (Menara KL) – 421 m – 2 blocks from Cormar

Menara Kuala Lumpur is the seventh-tallest telecommunications tower in the world and an icon of the KL skyline. It stands just two blocks from Cormar Suites, on Bukit Nanas hill, so you can arrive early and beat the crowds.

  • Observation Deck (276 m): enclosed, with 360° glass windows.
  • SkyDeck (300 m): an open-air platform, and the only open-air viewpoint of the three towers.
  • Atmosphere 360: the tower’s revolving restaurant.

Petronas Twin Towers – 452 m – a short walk from Cormar

The towers are about 450 m from Cormar Suites in a straight line, a short walk away. KLCC LRT station is within about a 10-minute walk if you’d rather ride.

  • Skybridge (levels 41–42, 170 m): the world’s highest two-storey bridge.
  • Observation Deck (Level 86): panoramic views over the city.
  • Hours: Tuesday–Sunday and public holidays, 9:00–22:30, with last admission at 21:30. On the 2nd, 4th and 5th Monday of the month it opens 9:00–20:00 (last admission 19:00). It’s closed on other Mondays.
  • Tickets: for visits within the next 24 hours, buy online at eticket2.petronastwintowers.com.my. Be at the entry point 15 minutes before your slot.
  • Suria KLCC: the mall at the towers’ base, with six levels and roughly 300 stores.

Staying a short walk away makes it easy to pick an off-peak slot.

Merdeka 118 – 678.9 m – Malaysia’s new tallest

Completed in 2023, Merdeka 118 overtook the Petronas Towers by about 227 m. It has 118 floors, hence the name, and stands beside the historic Stadium Merdeka, where independence was declared in 1957.

  • Observation deck: as of September 2026 the deck (“The View at 118”) is not open to the public, and no tickets are on sale. Anyone selling tickets is unauthorised. For now, enjoy the tower from street level.
  • Getting there: take the MRT Kajang Line from Bukit Bintang. Merdeka is the next stop.

KL Tower Events

KL Tower also hosts international sporting events. Check the tower’s official channels for the next dates.

  • KL Tower International Towerthon Challenge: a stair-climb race held in August, during National Month.
  • KL Tower International BASE Jump: the 2026 edition took place in early October.
