KL City Buses: GoKL & Rapid KL

GoKL’s electric city buses link KLCC, Bukit Bintang, Chinatown and KL Sentral. They are cheap, air-conditioned and easy for visitors. Rapid KL buses and MRT feeder buses fill in the rest.

How to ride GoKL (official)

  • Board at a GoKL stop.
  • Foreigners tap a Touch ‘n Go, credit or debit card (RM1).
  • Malaysians register their MyKad once at the KLCC, Titiwangsa or Pasar Seni GoKL counters, then ride free.

Fares

  • RM1 per ride for non-citizens; free for citizens and children 12 and under.
  • Rapid KL buses, BRT Sunway and MRT/LRT feeder buses are covered by Rapid Kembara and Rapid Bulanan passes.
  • Bank-card tap on Rapid buses is planned within 15 months of the open-payment contract award. It was not live as of May 2026.

Routes

  • GoKL city bus has 15 numbered routes (GOKL 01-15) and runs daily 6am-11pm. GOKL 01 (Green) links Suria KLCC and Bukit Bintang; GOKL 02 (Purple) Central Market-Bukit Bintang; GOKL 03 (Red) Titiwangsa-KL Sentral; GOKL 04 (Blue) Titiwangsa-Bukit Bintang. City routes run every 5 minutes at weekday peak and every 15 minutes off-peak.

What to see

  • GOKL 01 Green runs KLCC to Bukit Bintang (Suria KLCC, Pavilion/Starhill).
  • GOKL 02 Purple goes to Central Market and Chinatown.

Frequently asked questions

Is the GoKL bus free?

Only for Malaysian citizens who register their MyKad. Foreign visitors pay RM1 per ride by Touch ‘n Go or bank card. Children 12 and under ride free.

What hours does GoKL run?

Daily, 6am to 11pm.
