KL to Singapore: Train, Bus & Flights

Kuala Lumpur to Singapore is one of Asia’s busiest routes. You can go by train, coach or a short flight, and new rail links make the trip easier every year.

By train (official KTMB)

  • By train: ETS KL Sentral-JB Sentral takes about 4.5 hours with 8 trips a day (2026), then Shuttle Tebrau JB Sentral-Woodlands takes 5 minutes. Shuttle Tebrau fares are RM5 from JB and S$5 from Singapore.
  • Shuttle Tebrau runs 31 trips a day (13 SG to JB, 18 JB to SG).
  • Book on KITS or the KTMB app (Google Play · App Store) (sells out at peak).
  • Clear immigration at the departure station.

RTS Link (opens February 2027)

  • RTS Link (Bukit Chagar JB-Woodlands North, 4 km, about 5 minutes) will start in February 2027, as decided jointly and announced by Loke on 8 Oct 2026. Handover to the operator is due by 31 Dec 2026.
  • RTS fare and opening date are to be announced jointly. Media expect S$5-7 one-way, trains every 4 minutes at peak, 6am to midnight, with one-stop CIQ at departure.
  • Shuttle Tebrau will stop six months after RTS Link begins (so around Aug 2027).

By coach

  • Bus: Aeroline resumed KL-Singapore on 1 Sept 2026. It boards at The Exchange TRX, transfers via IOI City Mall, and drops at Perennial Business City near Jurong East MRT. Departures are 8am, 10am and 4:30pm. The article is dated 3 Sept 2026.
  • KL-Singapore coaches take about 5-9 hours depending on the border. Operators include Transtar and Aeroline.

By air

  • Flights from Subang (SZB): Firefly to Seletar and Changi, and Scoot to Changi. From KLIA, many carriers fly to Changi.

Arrival cards

  • SG Arrival Card: submit free within 3 days before arrival on the ICA e-Service or MyICA app (Google Play · App Store). Avoid paid third-party sites.
  • Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC): foreigners must complete it before arrival. Singapore citizens are exempt at all entry points.

Starting from Cormar Suites

From Cormar Suites, KL Sentral (for the ETS to JB) is about 10–15 minutes by Grab or Monorail. The Exchange TRX (Aeroline coaches) is about 10 minutes by Grab.
